If we are to believe the Bible to be true, like I hope we all do, then we should all be preparing for a day when we will not be able to buy and sell unless we have the permission of the beast. Preparing for a day when money as we know it (fiat currency) will not buy things, can come in many forms such as saving things that you may need immediately such as water, food, and many other life preserving items. Skills to keep you alive are also important as having the actual items. Such as how to start a fire, or simple skills such as how to barter for what you need.
What is this mark, the mark of the beast? What the actual mark is is debatable, but true followers of Father Yahweh will know what it is when it comes. One such idea of what it could be is the number of names the beast will have. I have heard some people try to make the case it is a UPC sign that will be tattooed on you. Skip Baker believes it will be the 6 pointed star (AKA Star of David). I myself have another idea which I have heard others speak of also, and that is an embedded microchip.
The technology for using microchips is available now. It is called the VeriChip. This chip is covered in a speech by Kathrine Albrecht in a video called "On the Brink of the Mark" This video is over an hour long. Most people like myself don't have the time to watch the video. However I encourage all to make the time, just like I did, you need to get this information.
