In Egypt there was a person called Imhotep that is familiar to those who study Egyptology. This person Imhotep is considered to be the worlds first known genius, in fact he is often referred to as a multi-genus as he had expertise in many different fields. He was the first known architect and physician. He is also known as a philosopher, poet, sage, and Chancellor of Egypt. He is credited with inventing papyrus scroll paper and invented columns used in architecture. He is also credited with constructing grain storage systems for Egypt.
As a physician he diagnosed and treated over 200 diseases, performed surgery, and dentistry. He knew all the internal organs and their functions and knew the circulatory system. He founded a medical school and built the first pyramid and Edfu temple. He was well respected by all in that part of the globe and had many visitors of high profile who would seek out his wisdom and bring him very expensive gifts from far away lands.
Imhotep is the most famous Egyptian and many movies have used his name as the mummy that comes back life and chases people around, but there is only one little detail, Egyptologists have tried for many years to try to find Imhotep's tomb with no luck whatsoever.
This is a video documentary of the elusive hunt for the tomb of Imhotep.
In late 1889 a carved stone was discovered by C.E. Wilbour that helped to shed some light to the identity of this mysterious person. This stone is commonly known as the Famine Stele. This stone goes in explicit detail about a famine that occured during the reign of Pharaoh Djoser that lasted for 7 years and the Egyptians were literally saved by Imhotep who commanded Egyptians to store grain for seven years prior to the preceding seven year famine. Many who know the Bible well will immediately recognize that this is the exact same event that happened in the book of Genesis chapter 41.
The Famine Stele talks about the seven year famine and how the Egyptians were saved from starvation by Imhotep that stored so much grain that people from everywhere came to Egypt to buy grain and made Egypt exceptionally wealthy.
Is Imhotep and Joseph the same person? I don't want to mislead anyone but I would like others to develop a curiosity and investigate this for themselves. Although the list below looks overwhelmingly convincing, the approximate years from the Bible are not exactly the same years that are recorded by the Egyptians. The Egyptians put Imhotep around 2600 B. C. and Joseph lived around 2000 B.C. Although the years are off, I still believe it is the same person. The similarities are uncanny. I have said many times before on this blog that I believe that the Bible, Science and History are all connected and compliment each other perfectly. Father Yahweh is great and reveals great information to those who wish to follow his word!
This is a comparison list of the two.
